Asia Pacific Eye Centre

Asia Pacific Eye Centre (APEC) is an eye specialist clinic located in Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore. We were established in 2007, and have been serving patients ever since. Our resident eye specialists at APEC are Dr. Lee Hung Ming, Dr. Tan Yar Li, Dr. Wong Chee Wai & Dr. Gillian Teh.

APEC is an established centre that offers a vast range of surgical procedures including LASIK, ASA/PRK/LASEK, LASIK Xtra, Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL), Phacoemulsification  and Intraocular Lens Implantation (Cataract Surgery), iStent and Lipiflow. Wishing to convey in this review my incredibly positive experience with Dr Tan and her amazing team at Asia Pacific Eye Centre.The reason I came here for LASIK was because everyone was clamoring about this stellar doctor. Naturally, I was curious—who is she? After experiencing it for myself, I completely understand why people speak so highly of her.From the start, I felt that everything was so seamless. Dr Tan took the time to understand my concerns and build trust with me, which made a huge difference. Eye surgery always seemed nerve-wracking to me, but this felt different. There is something uniquely unsettling about the idea of anything happening to the eyes. Unlike a surface wound or an injury to a limb, vision is something I rely on every moment of the day, and the thought of something going wrong can feel terrifying. But with Dr Tan, I never had that fear. She was warm, reassuring, and incredibly thorough. I never once felt like just another patient being rushed through the process. Instead, I felt genuinely cared for, and that put me at ease.Dr Tan was also really clear about everything—whether I was suitable for LASIK, if she’d recommend something else, and she even took my budget into account, which I really appreciated.The entire experience, from consultation to surgery, was smooth. Had decided to have LASIK done with Dr. Tan Yar Li & the experience has been very pleasant. Assessment was very in depth & subsequently suggested to me which operation was suitable for my eye. I was seeing a slight outline of my pupil in my vision for 2 weeks. I had a work trip and saw Dr Lee Hung Ming on my return. He was meticulous and he found a retinal tear, which was not obvious, but had to be urgently fixed by laser surgery. Dr Lee and his team are very experienced, highly professional and I am grateful to have him as my ophthalmologist. Thank you!!!

Freedom from spectacles thanks to Asia Pacific Eye Centre!From booking a consultation to the surgery, the entire process was very fuss free and quick. I took about 1.5 months only because I had dry eyes and had to do some extra checks. Dr Tan explained everything very clearly and felt very assuring. Other support staff were all nice and professional and I felt safe in their hands. The clinic does get quite busy on some days, but not overly concerning. Location is relatively convenient with the new train station just outside too.Recommend checking them out if you're considering eye related procedures.

Did ICL here with Dr Lee Hung Ming and he was really personal from the start to the end of the procedure. The whole process was very smooth and assuring (even during the operation itself). He is a very honest doctor too. He asked to see my surgery bill in the follow up consultation, and noticed the partnering hospital overcharged me. He called them to correct it right away and I got my refund! Very thankful for an honest Dr!

Was recommended to Doctor Tan Yar Li as the wait for my surgery was too long and unbearable. Even before I get to see her, was deeply impressed by the different rooms housing various machines. It was an eye opener to know that there's so many different test just for the eyes. Definitely a First class eye centre.Was wowed over by Doctor Tan with her detailed explanation and the level of confidence for my comparatively rarer condition of Posterior Polar Cataract. Immediately fixed the next available schedule for the cataract surgery for both eyes.Just completed surgeries for both eyes and thanks to her magical hands and expertise everything went very well.Every follow up at the clinic was also a pleasant experience as the staff were equally professional and helpful befitting the first class eye centre.Never imagined I would get to have crystal clear vision again and I am enjoying every moment of it all thanks to Doctor Tan!If you want clear vision, or any treatment for your eyes, this is the right place for you!
